We cater for all dietary preferences

We are fussy about food here at The Vicarage B&B. Everything we offer for breakfast & snacks are things we like to eat ourselves.

We like having happy guests so spotless rooms and comfy beds are a given. Just let us know your preferences or allergies when you book & we will oblige.  You’ll find an extensive continental breakfast in your in-room pantry so you can serve yourself any time you like.  You won’t be rubbing shoulders with strangers in a dining room because we don’t have one. Relax with our signature Bathrobe Breakfast or hit the day running with early breakfast in bed. It’s all about privacy & choice here.

Are you a fully vegan B&B?

No we aren’t. We welcome every guest & respect everyone’s choices. There may be scope for a fully vegan B&B in this area in the future, but that’s not our aim. We have one vegan-friendly room – ASH – but of course the choice is yours.

Can you cope with a serious nut allergy?
We do not include nuts in anything we serve. However, your wellbeing is a big responsbility, so please flag this when you book and we will double check ingredients.

Where do you source your foodstuffs?
We have a variety of sources of vegan, gluten-free & dairy-free options. These are sometimes high street stores, sometimes home-made & often from The Cheeseboard in Harrogate. Our go-to place for vegan sweets & treats is Miss Claire Rose in town. She also runs the Online Vegan Market.

Can you recommend suitable restaurants & cafés?

Yes of course, we can! There are numerous options in Harrogate & Knaresborough depending on your dietary preference, although there isn’t a purely vegan restaurant in Harrogate yet. Email us & we’ll send you our top tips list. Our most local restaurants always aim to please, but they may need some advance warning to avoid disappointment.

Why not check out our rooms

YEW is the neighbouring room to ASH. It’s the smallest of our rooms, so priced accordingly, but beautifully formed. A good choice for spotting wildlife.

OAK is a sunny room with its own private courtyard and barbecue, ideal for al fresco breakfast. Plus it’s the quietest – no neighbours at all.

ASH is in the middle of the  building and is the largest of our three rooms with a little more floor space and a high ceiling.

Natalie, Frankfurt – ASH & YEW

Our group stayed in ASH and YEW at this wonderful little B&B. The interior design was such a surprise – in a word: lush. Not only was the in-room breakfast a pleasant variation on a theme, but the amenities (WiFI, your choice of streaming platforms incl. Amazon Prime, Netflix and YouTube) really made you feel “at home”. Coupled with the beautiful countryside surrounding this tranquil area made the whole trip a very pleasant one. The hosts were attentive but not intrusive and provided a good variety of breakfast options (such as toast/crumpets, selection of teas, etc). We will definitely go there again.

Grev, Sussex – ASH

The room (Ash) is one of three that have been converted from an outbuilding. The location being a very quiet village which is a short drive from Knaresborough and Harrogate. It is beautifully appointed with such tasteful decorations and thoughtful touches – I am thinking notably about the soft light that turns on when you enter the bathroom, which at night, emits enough light without having to turn on the main light. There is a very fast usb charging port, smart tv, kettle, Nespresso coffee maker, fridge etc. The fridge is filled with items ready for a continental breakfast every morning. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I would heartily recommend. A gem.

The Vicarage is a stylish, North Yorkshire B&B in the little village of Nidd just outside Harrogate. A tranquil escape from the everyday for couples where you can unwind at your leisure, perfect for a great night’s sleep and breakfast in your room any time you want it.
