We’re not the types to splash our faces around the internet
Our travels around the world have taken us to dozens of countries, including Germany, France, South Africa, Cyprus Hong Kong
The house we chose to make our home dates back to 1679 and used to be the vicar’s residence. We did a radical redesign on the house and brought it into the 21st century. The stables next door were looking a little dilapidated when we arrived, but we immediately spotted the potential. After a significant renovation, we converted the building into three purpose-built guest rooms and The Vicarage B&B was born. Of course, that’s only a fraction of the story.
Thankfully our skillsets also lend themselves nicely to running a boutique bed and breakfast. Eileen has a lifelong passion for sumptuous fabrics,
We also love talking to people, which in our opinion is one of the greatest joys of managing boutique accommodation. We’ll happily chat to anyone, but much prefer listening to our guests. We can do both in German, French
Nevertheless, we know when to keep our distance too. If you’re the type who would rather enjoy the peace of the countryside on your travels, we’re all for that. Being on hand when you need us and being invisible when you don’t is our signature style (
We live a stone’s throw from the guest rooms, so you can give us a shout if you need anything (perhaps not literally; mind the serenity) and we can usually be there in a jiffy. We give you our mobile number on arrival, so you can simply send us a text if you prefer.
Now you know a bit about us, take a look at our beautiful rooms. Pick your

Oak is the room closest to the main house with windows to the east and south. It has its own courtyard and barbecue.
Ash is in the middle of the mews building and is the largest of the rooms with a little more floor space and a high ceiling.
Nicki, Suffolk – OAK
This is a B&B with a difference it is in an idyllic peaceful setting. Eileen and Robin were there to meet us on arrival and to make sure that we had everything we needed. The attention to detail is really well thought out. We did make a suggestion and it was acted upon and our opinion was sought on the outcome. The only thing that was not quite right for us was the quilt as it was a very heavy winter one, but I am sure that in the cold winter people will love this. The breakfast arrangement was not quite what I expected but I could not fault it, it was delicious.
Grev, Sussex – ASH
Excellent, beautifully appointed room. Very friendly hostess.
I was the high bidder on an auction for three nights staying with Eileen and Robin. How lucky was I! The room (Ash) is one of three that have been converted from an outbuilding. The location is a very quiet village which is a short drive from Knaresborough and Harrogate. It is beautifully appointed with such tasteful decorations and thoughtful touches – I am thinking notably about the soft light that turns on when you enter the bathroom, which at night, emits enough light to use the toilet without having to turn on the main light. There is a very fast USB charging port, smart tv, kettle, Nespresso coffee maker, fridge etc. The fridge is filled with items ready for a continental breakfast every morning. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I would heartily recommend. A gem.
Nicola, Newcastle upon Tyne – YEW
Just back from a two night stay at The Vicarage! We couldn’t have asked for more, the place is so beautifully decorated and the hosts Eileen & Robin were so lovely. We stayed in the ‘Yew’ room. Beautiful, contemporary decor with all of the luxuries of a 5* hotel! The finishing touches in the room were fab, it had everything you could think of and more. The #bathrobebreakfast is such a modern and cool feature which leaves you to enjoy breakfast whenever is best for you – midnight toast with cheese and Prosecco went down a treat!
The B&B is about 10 minutes or so in a car away from Harrogate which is great to visit, really nice to stay in such a peaceful environment with the option to visit towns/cities in the area.
Will definitely recommend to others and hopefully come back soon. Thank you for having us!

Your room is not short on technology with unlimited fast wifi, smart TV with numerous streaming options and USB charging ports. Your ensuite shower room incorporates those little details that make all the difference: make-up or shaving mirror, sensor night light and not forgetting lashings of hot water pouring from a rainforest shower head.
Each of our rooms has a king-sized bed. We are happy to make up a bed with two single duvets on
